Biography:

Welcome to Pelion Elementary School, Home of the 2024 World Champion Archery Team, and where our Panthers show “P.R.I.D.E” in everything we do!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I am both excited and honored to begin my second year as principal of this amazing school community.

Originally from a small town in Horry County, South Carolina, I attended Clemson University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Special Education. I have also pursued coursework toward a Doctorate in School Improvement from the University of West Georgia. I currently reside in Irmo, SC, and I am a proud momma to two incredible children: Briana, who is married to my wonderful son-in-love, Brandon, and serves as a teacher in Atlanta, GA; and Javian, a professional football player with the Indoor Football League.

My journey in education began during my senior year of high school when I was among the last group of students allowed to drive school buses. Since then, I have served as a classroom teacher in various settings, including special education, general education, gifted/honors programs, and multilingual learner programs, across grades K-8. Every moment spent with students, families, and colleagues has helped shape who I am as an educator and leader, and I’m grateful for each of those relationships.

As we step into the 2025-2026 school year, we are embracing our new school theme: "Level Up: Inspire Greatness." At Pelion Elementary, we are committed to growing together, challenging ourselves and one another, and creating a school culture where greatness isn’t just a goal, it’s a daily mindset. Our mission remains strong: to ensure academic excellence while building a community of lifelong learners.

This year promises to be filled with exciting opportunities, meaningful learning, and continued success. It’s going to be a phenomenal year, and I am so grateful to be on this journey with you.

If I can support you in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out.a
